A small format consist of 160 pages is a fully illustrated identification guide include all the bird’s photos of the region covering all the rare and endangered species, including endemic, oceanic, migratory and exotic birds of the Mauritius, Rodrigues and the islets also include Round island bird species, The Coco Islands in Rodrigues in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar consisting of Mauritius, Réunion and Rodrigues.

Main Aims

One of the main aims of this work is to help to ensure the survival of a precious, but fragile, natural heritage by encouraging a growing appreciation of these beautiful creatures. Some of these birds are under threat and we cannot be sure that they won’t one day become extinct. Coco island where you can find thousands of marine birds which have sought shelter on protected islets and scattered in the lagoon of Rodrigues.

You can find the Brown Noddy, Frigate bird, Sooty tern and the Angel bird the White Tern in the bird sanctuaries well protected on Ile Cocos and Ile aux Sables. The two endemics of Rodrigues are the Yellow Rodrigues Fody and the Rodrigues Fody also included and some of the extinct birds of the region.
